Goverment Tightens A Mystery Over China’s Financial Plans Grows

On July 7, something unusual happened near the Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, China. An oddly shaped bright light appeared, forcing the airport to close down and delay 18 flights. Things are now back to normal, but people are wondering, what was that "thing"?

An ABC News article on the mysterious sighting explains that some who witnessed the light are calling it a UFO. But, keep in mind, a UFO doesn't necessarily mean little, green men.

In notices put at the China Bank Regulatory Commission website, financial regulators announced two new initiatives that will cut access to money for both individuals and businesses. According to an account by Reuters, “The regulation on working capital loans stated that banks must calculate borrowers’ actual needs and also consider their cash flow, liabilities, repayment abilities and other factors when assessing loan applications.”

China’s exports and the rate at which manufacturing has increased in the country and an extraordinary improvement in imports indicate that the central government is still pouring money into the economy. There is nothing in the GDP numbers of the largest developed nations that would show that consumption patterns are up enough to support a surge in Chinese exports, although it could be that companies on the mainland are dumping goods at below market prices. That would increase trade tensions between China and the West significantly.

HANGZHOU, CHINA (GaeaTimes.com)- The UFO that disrupted Chinese air traffic On July has become a rage on the web as a variety of speculations have started doing the rounds. The Chinese authorities have called in an investigative team that will probe on the matter. The team consists of UFO experts from all over China. According to reports, the team has been investigating for the last five days and have not yet come up with any concrete answers.

Zhang Yunhua, one of the experts investigating the matter said that after seeing the pictures taken by the onlookers, he feels that the UFO could have been a reflection off an aircraft. He added that most UFO sightings turn out to be ordinary objects. He also said that the investigation would become smoother if the airport authorities cooperated with the investigators and revealed the radar pictures to them. The UFO had caused a great disruption at Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan Airport by ceasing the operations and causing the incoming flights to divert to neighboring airports.

Free Republic is currently delivering over 1.2 million pageviews to over 230,000 visitors per day. That's 40 million pageviews to 7 million visitors per month or 120 million pageviews per quarter, 480 million pageviews per year. We currently have over 330,000 registered screen names on FR. Out of these millions of visits, hundreds of millions of pageviews, hundreds of thousands of registered FReepers and hundreds of thousands of regular lurkers only a relatively FEW actually donate the funds to keep FR alive.

Now I'm not complaining, because we've always managed to meet our fundraising goals in the past, but it is taking longer and longer to accomplish the task. And part of that may be because it's mostly the same few dedicated FReepers providing the funds and along with the rest of us I'm sure they're stretched to the limit. Sure would be nice if a few more FReepers and lurkers would lend a hand and send in a few bucks. Doesn't take much. I think our average donation is around $20, but you can send in $5, $10, $20, $30 or more and make it a monthly contribution if you can.

Truth be told, there's not much left to be said. Something weird happened. Nobody knows what it was. And if they do, they aren't saying. Check out the video below and judge for yourself.
