American Idol: Jennifer Lopez Responds to 'American Idol' Rumor with Twitpic

Singer Jennifer Lopez is taking this whole American Idol thing in stride. After rumors of being dumped as the next judge of the popular singing competition for being too much of a diva, the singer posted a photo on Twitter that poked fun at the idea.

Jenny From the Block posted a picture on her Twitter account Thursday that showed her seemingly vast collection of jewelry, along with the caption.American Idol producers reportedly booted J Lo from consideration for the coveted spot because her "demands got out of hand" and that Fox had just had enough.

Both Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres left the show earlier this year, then Kara DioGuradi was fired, and now everyone from J Lo and Mariah Carey to Shania Twain and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler have been rumored to be replacements. At least Lopez is trying to have a sense of humor about it now. I don't think I can take much more of this stuff unless.

Getting Married This Weekend! (Hilary Duff)

Hilary Duff was a sweet, young Disney commodity, and now she is almost a married woman! The 22-year-old former Lizzie McGuire star will reportedly walk down the aisle this weekend and marry her hockey player beau Mike Comrie in Santa.

Who started dating in 2007 and have already bought a $3.85 million home together, has been diligently preparing for their big day in their separate ways. Hilary has been working out 6 days a week and avoiding partying, no doubt to shed as much weight as possible before the wedding. Hilary, don’t you know that the best way to look thin in your wedding dress is to try to make your sister Haylie and other bridesmaids look as fat as possible?Meanwhile, Mike has been partying his still single butt off. He was seen at an LA nightclub.

They had a great time, but Mike was pretty well behaved. The wedding is rumored to be taking place at the San Ysidro Ranch, a gorgeous hotel, located on 500 acres in wine country (where JFK and Jackie O honeymooned!) and will be a "quiet affair.

Will Ferrell Cop comedy rules at US and Canadian cinemas

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg grabbed the box office crown from Leonardo DiCaprio on Sunday as their new cop comedy "The Other Guys" sold about $35.6 million worth of tickets, the film's distributor said.

Which was in line with expectations, marks the second-highest of Ferrell's career and a big rebound from his 2009 summer bomb "Land of the Lost."Wahlberg, making a rare foray into comedy, achieved his best opening since 2001's "Planet of the Apes" remake kicked off with $68.5 million.

"Land of the Lost" ($18.8 million) and 2008's "Semi-Pro" ($15.5 million), raising speculation that another flop could hurt his ability to get big-budget studio films green-lighted.His best opening remains the 2006 comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" with $47 million.

2 with $18.6 million, taking the total for the hit Warner Bros. release to $227.7 million after four weekends. The Walt Disney Co release opened at No. 3 with $15.5 million, well below its predecessors even with the help of higher prices for 3D engagements.

The total for the Focus Features release, starring Annette Bening and Julianne Moore as a lesbian couple, rose to $14 million.Rounding out the top five were Columbia's Angelina Jolie spy thriller "Salt" with $11.1 million, and Paramount's Steve Carell comedy "Dinner for Schmucks" with $10.5 million.

"Dinner For Schmucks" lost 55 percent of its audience, one of the biggest drops in the top 10, and far steeper than the 34 percent second-weekend dip earlier this year for his comedy "Date Night.Whose female-skewing tearjerker "Charlie St. Cloud" tumbled 62 percent in its second round. Katy Perry engaged, she's talented, she's cute, and she isn't even facing a lawsuit for using Beach Boys lyrics in her work. One with less money, would've considered going up against Katy Perry to make more cash. Maybe she paid for the rights to a sample?

Beach Boy Mike Love told the press,The Beach Boys are definitely not suing Katy Perry.

In fact, we are flattered that her fantastically successful song is bringing to mind to millions of people our 1965 recording of the Beach Boys' California Girls.

Deepika Padukone: Neil Nitin Mukesh finally kisses Deepika Padukone

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has kissed Saif Ali Khan on screen, but her new co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh was a virgin kisser on camera.Neil has pulled out the plug on his no-kissing clause as he was virtually forced to do a long, lingering kissing scene with Deepika.

At first Neil was totally against the kiss with Deepika. He has refused to kiss in all his films," said a source close to the project. In fact his first director, Sriram Raghavan, threw a fit when Neil refused to kiss Rimi Sen. In his second film, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, director Sudhir Mishra insisted Neil kiss Shahana Goswami, but the actor refused.

Neil plunged into his first kiss only after the director assured him that the romantic relationship needed a culmination.Pradeep persuaded Neil and he finally saw his director's point of view. But the actor was nervous.

Deepika had kissed before on screen. Not Neil," the source said.He first suggested a peck. But was finally persuaded to do a long, torrid smooch comparable in intensity and duration with Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor's kiss in Raja Hindustan.

When contacted, Neil said, "I can't talk about this. But, yes, we've gone completely by the requirements of the script. And Lafange Parindey is my first love story."

Hot ticket for aspiring pop stars (American Idol)

"American Idol" has a shortage of judges at the moment, but it's doing fine with would-be contestants.Nearly 50,000 people have turned out in the first four cities where tryouts have been held, according to series producers.

"American Idol" expanded the pool by lowering the age eligibility a year, from 16 to 15 years old. The maximum age to audition remains 28.I think people are sensing that season 10 is a historic moment, and they all want to take a shot at being the 10th American Idol.

Fox hasn't addressed the status of judges Randy Jackson or Kara DioGuardi.Nigel Lythgoe, the "So You Think You Can Dance" judge and co-creator who is rejoining "American Idol" as an executive producer, told Fox News he thinks there is more talent to be discovered and hopes to "find the next Michael Jackson."

He's also ready to have attention shift from judges to singers, Lythgoe said.Even if it's Sanjaya (and) we're talking about his ... hair, for goodness' sake," Lythgoe told Fox, referring to former contestant Sanjaya Malakar's eye-catching hairdo parade. On Wednesday, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch told a conference call with analysts and journalists, "we're very close to announcing who the judges will be.

The music will certainly be better and we've got great expectations for it."The makeover comes after a season during which ratings dipped, but not enough to deny "American Idol" the No. 1 spot.

Lindsay Lohan is 'Incredible': 'Inferno' Director

Is she really that valuable? Well, apparently to Mattthew, she is. He has nothing but amazing things to say about Lindsay Lohan.Do you believe it? Well, we do know that Lindsay Lohan used to be an absolutely incredible actor. That's partly why it's been so sad to see her fall so far down. And we do know that Linds is fabulous at looking like a trashy porn star.

"It's interesting, because she looks really incredible... Linda Lovelace was not remotely this good-looking. It was really strange. This is really kind of like that movie thing, where everything is kicked up one or two degrees beyond reality." Huh. Does that mean Lindsay just can't contain her sexiness? We're not surprised. But Wilder also comments on Lindsay's incredible acting skills, saying, "There's a scene that we did, I don't know if we printed photos from it or not... But we put her in a chair, and she went into this total volcanic meltdown and then just like a second later snapped out of it and walked away, walked back and was talking normally to everyone else.

Now if only she'd star in some movies we were actually interested in seeing.Wilder says they'll continue shooting Inferno as soon as Lindsay is released from rehab and is able to work.

Twilight: Why True Blood Kicks Twilight's Ass

It's hardly even a fair fight. It's like watching a bed-ridden asthmatic try to knock down a sequoia. By huffing and puffing. True Blood is a salaciously sinister and fiendishly fun series featuring insane characters filled with life and color. Twilight is a sniffly-nosed, dew-covered mope-fest filled with silence and shame.

Yes, because of the "vampire factor", these two creative products share fans as there will always be fans of vampires no matter what movie they're in or what show they're on. Like everything else that exists in pop-culture there are apologists. But Twilight is listless and dreary. And it's not that we don't fully appreciate the forests and gravel roads of the Pacific Northwest as a backdrop, but Twilight wallows too much in the picturesque serenity of its locale and loses all sense of danger.

Who wants to sit around for two hours and watch people yearn? Who really wants to explore the depths of an ultimately unfulfilling relationship? Yes, there is merit to tackling the themes of lovelorn longing, but we'd rather leave that topic to more adept authors than Stephenie Meyer. In True Blood, everyone has sex! They bone 24/7! And they don't try to hide the fact that the thing that initially draws each of them to one another is raw sexual attraction. Sure, they grow to know each other later and, hell, they might even learn to tolerate each other's contrived southern eccentricities, but first things first! Sex. And lot's of it. Hell, Sookie and Bill spent almost an entire episode under the sheets.

Bella and Edward spend all their free time exchanging meaningless niceties under porcelain pretences. Sulky stares and sullen smirks. And of course Bella's dad is cool with her dating a vampire! He knows that dude is never going to even touch her boob! It's pretty much just like letting her date a gay guy. Actually, no. It's safer. See, dads don't care about their little girls running around with monsters if that monster is an ineffectual, uncharismatic neutered lump. Yes, Edward and Bella do wind up having sex eventually. After they get married. And just once. Enough to get her pregnant

True Blood's world is vibrant and fresh. Vampires live among humans. They've come "out of the coffin." They have jobs. They have magazines. Talk shows. Bars. Townships. But it's still a fairly new scenario so there still are rampant prejudices on both sides of the vampire/human relations. Whereas Twilight is an allegory for not giving in to your "dirty, filthy urges," True Blood tackles racism, segregation, religion and a flurry of other socially relevant topics that helps the series stand out as a true game-changer in the vampire genre.

True Blood vampires are able to make progressive leaps and bounds genre-wise while still adhering to the basic established vampire rules concerning sunlight. And they're horny. And complex. And feral. And peaceful. And able to think like creatures of the modern-era. Let's compare the two scenes – the meet/cute scenes – in both Twilight and True Blood; when Edward sees Bella for the first time and when Bill sees Sookie for the first time. When Edward sees Bella, his eyes awkwardly widen, his nostrils flair and he gets an uncontrollable vamp-boner (see: Edward smelling her "specialness") and has to excuse himself from science class like a dandy who just pooped his pantaloons. When Bill sees Sookie, there's a sultry sexual brooding that happens, letting us know that Bill wants to "f the s" out of Sookie and he's not ashamed to show it in his eyes.

Happy birthday for birthday girl Kajol today..

Kajol was born in Mumbai of Bengali-Marathi descent, and belongs to a family tree with a long respectable history in the Indian cinema. Her mother Tanuja is a renowned actress, whilst her late father Shomu Mukherjee was a film producer. Her late maternal aunt, Nutan is the record holder for the most (five times) Filmfare Awards for Best Actress.

Late maternal grandmother Shobhna Samarth and great grandmother Rattan Bai had both been influential figures in the early stages of Hindi cinema. Her paternal uncles are film producers; Joy Mukherjee and Deb Mukherjee. Kajol's paternal grandfather, Sashadhar Mukherjee, was a filmmaker. His wife Satirani Devi, Kajol's paternal grandmother, was the sister of three famous film personalities, Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar. Kajol's cousins Rani Mukerji, Sharbani Mukherjee and Mohnish Behl are also Bollywood actors whereas her cousin Ayaan Mukerjee is a director. Kajol's younger sister Tanisha Mukherjee is also an actress. With such a strong lineage in Bollywood this girl was sure to make heads turn.

Kajol turns a year older on Thursday (August 5). Her folks have planned the traditional dhole ceremony to coincide with the actress' birthday. The Maharashtrian ceremony, (the equivalent of a godh bharai ceremony), is conducted to mark the seventh month of a woman's pregnancy. Her mom Tanuja and sister Tanishaa felt it was apt to have a double celebration on the day.The ceremony will be followed by a traditional lunch with only family members in attendance. As Tanuja is a Maharashtrian, both the sisters follow a lot of the customs.

A bitchy actress chirped to say that Kajol has been calling Ajay Devgn 'Gangsta' after watching him in Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. But Arjun Rampal who has just got a new dog is also calling his pooch Gangsta.Bow wow! Remember how Devgn had cribbed about a raw deal in buddy Prakash Jha's Raajneeti resulting in Rampal getting close to the director? Bow-wow!

This Thursday will mark Kajol’s birthday and while there will be a big bash to bring in her special day, the family has also decided they will celebrate her godh bharai too. In true Maharashtrian style, the family will observe the necessary ceremonies as well as her birthday. This will be followed by a family lunch for the Mukherjees and Devgns together.

Taylor war: Naomi Campbell due at Taylor war crimes trial

Having lost her battle to avoid testifying, British fashion model Naomi Campbell is due to give evidence at the war crimes trial of former Liberian ruler Charles Taylor on Thursday.

But judges rejected that in Wednesday's ruling, saying it was not reasonable to expect prosecutors to obtain a statement beforehand from Campbell, who is essentially a hostile witness. Prosecutors say that from his seat of power in Liberia Taylor armed, trained and commanded Sierra Leone rebels who murdered and mutilated thousands of civilians across the border. Taylor has said he is innocent of the 11 war crimes charges he faces, including murder, rape, sexual enslavement and recruiting child soldiers.

She declined to cooperate with prosecutors until judges last month ordered her to appear or face a maximum sentence of seven years for contempt. In April, she told ABC news she "never received a diamond" from Taylor and didn't want to talk about it. In May, she told Oprah Winfrey she didn't want to be involved in Taylor's case and feared for her safety if she were.

She also did a week of community service sweeping floors and scrubbing toilets in a Manhattan garbage-truck garage in 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault for hurling a cell phone at her maid because of a vanished pair of jeans. A few of Campbell's former aides and maids have sued her, accusing her of violent outbursts; some cases have been settled on undisclosed terms.Campbell became one of the world's highest-paid models after being discovered while shopping in London at age 15.

It Only Looks Old: Halo 2600

Microsoft's Halo video game franchise hasn't been around as long as Donkey Kong or Pac-Man, but it's already had a huge impact. That's thanks, in large part, to the franchise's sweet visuals and cutting-edge gameplay.

The game, called "Halo 2600," made its debut at the recent Classic Gaming Expo, where cartridges (nice!) of the game were given away to lucky recipients. But, thankfully, you needn't be one of the lucky few to experience this low-tech shooter.

As it turns out, playing the game is quite straightforward. Use your arrow keys to move Master Chief and hit the space bar to shoot. Avoid the bad guys, and see how far you can get. What could be simpler? The game can't match "Halo 3" for visual beauty, but it is instantly accessible and offers old-school gamers something very rare.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt accepted undisclosed damages Thursday in London's High Court to settle a privacy claim against a British tabloid that had reported they were planning to split.

The News of the World after it reported in January that they had agreed to separate. The pair argued the newspaper had made false and intrusive allegations in saying that they had planned to divide assets worth 205 million pounds ($320 million) and had made arrangements regarding the custody of their six children.

The News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologize for them — thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position — the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue," the couple's attorney, Keith Schilling, said in a statement.

"Today's victory marks the end of the litigation brought by Brad and Angelina."

The 'Paparazzi' singer is about to embark on her 'Monster Ball' tour next month and the flamboyant pop star - famed for her outrageous outfits - is going to take her fashion inspiration from the title.

Lady Gaga told Rolling Stone magazine: "The fashion is going to be another exploration and another level from where we were with the previous tour, the 'Fame Ball'. The theme of monsters is certainly going to be an influence, as well as the theme of evolution and change. It's going to be a truly artistic experience that is going to take the form of the greatest post-apocalyptic house party that you've ever been to."

Lady Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - was due to hit the road with Kanye West.

However, the tour - entitled 'Fame Kills', and which had been planned for months - was cancelled earlier this month, just weeks after Kanye was heavily criticised for invading the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

But the 23-year-old singer hasn't ruled out the possibility of touring with him in the future.

Lady Gaga said: "It just wasn't the right timing. I don't want to embellish on it too much, because I want to respect Kanye's privacy. But we just had our own reasons. We're real friends, real friends can make decisions like that, and we wanted to keep the momentum going in terms of pop music staying innovative with hip-hop and R'n'B. But who's to say what will happen in the future?"

Julia:Twilight star Julia Jones's interview with Lime Life

Leah Clearwater's Julia Jones opens up on her "really good job," new opportunities and - yes! - working with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Here we kick off a highly-coveted two-week series where she shares the shocking story behind landing the part of Leah, the ways your life transforms when you've starred in the biggest film franchise in the world, and the inside truth about Twilight cast relationships.

Interview Highlights:

LimeLife: Julia, you've just played this amazing role in Eclipse and we can't wait to hear about it. First though, can you tell us from where else we might know you?

Julia Jones: Probably the most notable thing was that I did a recurring role on ER. I appeared in their final season [as Dr. Kaya Montoya], so it was pretty cool to be a part of something that great and large as it was closing. Everybody was appreciating it, so it was a good time to be involved.

LimeLife: We heard that there were open casting calls for Eclipse. How exactly did you score the part of Leah Clearwater?

Julia Jones: The casting director I've had a relationship with for a number of years. She actually just called us up and I went in and auditioned for the director David Slade and for her, and came back about a week later and read for some people from Summit and David again and some of the producers. And then I waited for about a month before I heard anything, and you're right, in that time they were doing huge casting calls and going up to Canada. I think they accepted tapes from anybody so really anyone in the world could put themselves on tape and potentially be seen by the casting people.

LimeLife: Okay, so basically you were tapped on the shoulder to audition for the biggest cinema craze of our time. What kind of relationship did you have with the Twilight series at that time?

Julia Jones: It's interesting because I hadn't read any of the books before I got the audition. I of course was aware of it, I have good friends who have been - I think "obsessed" is the right word - for quite some time. (Laughs.) Then when I got the call for the audition, I actually had a very serious visceral reaction. My heart started beating fast, it's a very unusual thing but I think on some level I think I sort of felt like I knew that this was going to be something important and probably life-changing.

Robert Pattinson:The Twilight Saga,David Letterman,The New Moon

Kristen Stewart’s gloominess may be the biggest, but it’s far from the only, problem with “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the hugely anticipated second chapter in the series. There’s the music, which threatens to suffocate you in its maudlin grasp within the film’s first five minutes. Toss in dialogue so wooden it could float, a bloated 130 minute running time, and you have a languid, campy affair that would seem right at home on a Saturday night airing on the Disney Channel.

Director Chris Weitz, hired to replace Catherine Hardwicke, seems as confounded by the material as his predecessor. The movie often feels more padded than the Joker's cell at Arkham. Weitz even fumbles a product placement bit early on.

From the start in this movie, Bella and Edward’s star-crossed romance is on the ropes. A paper cut at Bella’s 18th birthday party convinces Edward (Robert Pattinson) his supernatural world is no place for the girl he loves, so he breaks up with her and leaves Forks with the rest of his family.

Bella, desperate to become part of Edward’s world in blood and spirit, is crushed. Her depression spiral has all the usual trimmings, from the absent glare to the isolation from her friends, even a brooding alt-rock soundtrack. She then decides to embrace her inner X-Games contestant, knowing she can summon Edward’s spirit by risking her life dirt biking and cliff diving.

And Edward does show up, constantly. Considering Pattinson’s huge appeal, the decision to have him show up in ghostly fashion so he wouldn’t disappear for an hour makes marketing sense. But Weitz executes Edward’s apparitional appearances in such clumsy fashion, they evoked steady laughter from the audience at the screening I attended.

Edward’s disappearance allows Bella to reconnect with her childhood friend from the Quileute tribe, Jacob (Taylor Lautner). He helps her rebuild a motorcycle and more important, gets her to snap out of her love funk. Jacob also wants Bella for himself, but she’s not ready yet.

Jacob struggles with being the ‘rebound guy’ – not to mention ridiculous hair extensions – and it doesn’t help his mood that he has a secret of his own.

At first, Bella thinks Jacob’s new friends are trouble. And the fact that they always run around shirtless and in jean shorts is a bit unsettling. Soon, however, she learns the truth. Jacob and his buddies are werewolves, guarding against their natural enemies, vampires.

An interesting subplot with The Volturi, the aristocracy of the vampire world, adds some excitement to the mix. A distraught Edward turns to them as a way to end his tortured existence, setting up the film’s climax.

Sandwiched in between “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans” and the upcoming “Tron Legacy,” Michael Sheen continues to build his Comic-Con cred as Aro, the head of the Volturi.

The scenes at the Volturi stronghold in Italy are the high point of the picture, and it would have been nicer to delve deeper into that corridor of the Twilight mythology. And it should be noted that the wolf transformations illustrated a marked improvement in CGI work over the first movie.

But the focus is squarely on the love triangle at the root of this story. And truth be told, it has the potential for intriguing drama, especially with the supernatural werewolves vs. vampires setting.

Robert Pattinson revisits the brooding man bit that earned him the worship of millions of women young and uncomfortably old the first time around. He struts through his scenes here like a vampiric Chuck Bass traversing the VIP rooms of Manhattan’s nightlife scene.

Lautner actually spends more time onscreen with Stewart than his more-photographed co-star. But there is zero chemistry between the two, and while he obviously spent many hours in the gym, his acting muscles aren’t developed enough to overcome the stilted dialogue.

Besides, Team Jacob never stands a chance anyway. It’s all about Edward/Bella. Weitz goes all-in with the Romeo and Juliet comparisons. In case you don’t notice the copy of Shakespeare’s tale Bella goes to bed with, there’s the English class discussion of the story to sledgehammer the point home.

It all rings false. Why? Because the actors don’t seem to believe what they’re saying any more than the audience buys what they’re selling. And when the actors in a movie about young vampire love and lurking werewolves aren’t fully invested in the material...well, then you’re only a few years away from midnight audience participation showings at the Sunshine.

And saying ‘it’s in the books’ doesn’t cut it. An adaptation of a novel should be able to stand on its own, without forcing people (like this writer) to read the books to fill in the blanks.

Love and romance doesn’t have to be as hard as Edward and Bella make it out to be. It could, and should actually, be...wait for it...fun. Instead, “New Moon” shows us a love pairing that gives Ryan Atwood and Marissa Cooper a run for their melancholia.

Rock singer Robert Plant takes his `Band of Joy' on the road

"When you're working with Robert you can only rehearse so much and then it doesn't matter anymore because you have to have your eyes glued on him the entire night," guitarist Buddy Miller said in an interview with his tour bandmate, singer-songwriter and guitarist Patty Griffin. "No matter what the arrangement was, he's just all feel."Plant might give a nod or a vocal cue and the band heads off in an unexpected direction. That might be the unifying theme for Plant's latest project, which he calls "an adventure.

His aim for Zeppelin songs like "Misty Mountain Hop" and "Houses of the Holy" is to make them feel like they are "crawling out of the swamp, not coming out of the bordello." "Even the old songs are brand-new," Plant said. "There's nothing being reproduced that's ever been heard the way it's being played now ... it's all different. So we've got a hotbed of about 22 songs, which will grow and grow.

The concerts featured a song each for Miller and Griffin, and Plant has plans to include more songs by the band, which also includes multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott, bassist Byron House and drummer Marco Giovino. He wants a revue feel for the tour, his first headlining performances since the "Raising Sand" tour wrapped 15 months ago."I can feel it without a word spoken and we sing together like crazy," he said. "It's like a rockin' thing. It's like the Andrews Sisters on acid, you know. It's really great — revelatory really. She let's fly. She really lets it go."

Watch New Moon: Kristen Stewart's Money Dilemma

A-listers such as Cate Blanchett, Daniel Craig, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Jude Law, Madonna, Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Naomi Watts, bring smaller, specialized projects to the Cinema Society.

"Please keep details of the evening completely confidential beforehand," mentioned the Luxist invite. The secret location: The boutique Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo, which boasts a well-appointed but discreet screening room at basement level.

On the red carpet, Kristen Stewart wore RM by Roland Mouret, a short dress with swirls of large paillettes and spiky, 4-inch Louboutins. Her hair was newly colored brunette for her role in "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac.

During the screening, Luxist was seated next to Abigail Breslin and her mother. Other notables included Sofia Vergara of Modern Family, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, fashionista Rachel Zoe, and supermodels Dree Hemingway and Maggie Rizer.

That said, Luxist gives high marks to the food at the Crosby Street Hotel afterfete: beef sliders, chicken curry, crab cakes, squash, and goat cheese risotto. "Eclipse" fete food: Two thumbs way up.

Singer Jennifer Lopez cancels north Cyprus show

Singer Jennifer Lopez has put the kibosh on a show in the Turkish-controlled north of Cyprus. The performance came under fire from Greek Cypriots, who started an online campaign calling for the gig to be canceled.

"After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of her advisors to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region."

Lopez, her husband singer Marc Anthony and their two children were due to stay at the Cratos Premium Hotel, located in a region where thousands of Greek Cypriots were displaced from in 1974. She was booked to perform there on July 24.

Apparently, as Beyoncé may have learned after playing a little New Year's Eve gig in St. Barth's for a son of Moammar Kadafi, not every multimillion-dollar paycheck is worth it the hassle.
